International Baccalaureate Mission:
The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the IB works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
Kershaw Magnet School Mission:
Our mission will be met through joint collaborative efforts of the school staff, students, parents, and community to incorporate a rigorous academic program, emphasizing inquiry based instruction. Using a variety of assessments, continuous professional development and shared decision making we will structure a safe, nurturing, learning environment that will accept and respect the diversity of all individuals and promote academic excellence.

A Message from our Principal :
I am very excited and look forward to sharing many academic experiences with our students. As we partner with our parents, we will work together for a rich and fruitful education for your children. Our focus will be on providing each child with new challenges that will result in a rewarding school experience. At Kershaw Magnet we place emphasis on the International Baccalaureate Programme as we incorporate core content areas of reading, language arts, science, social studies, and math. These areas will remain a priority as well as providing a learning program that builds on each year to reach local and state standards. Instruction in the fine arts, foreign language, technology, and physical education complete our program providing each student with the opportunity to develop areas of interest and skills.
The IB learner profile provides a long-term vision of education. It is a set of ideals that can inspire, motivate and focus the work of schools and teachers, uniting them in a common purpose.
